The quick and dirty: Magic in the world is out of balance, causing those who possess it to have trouble controlling it, with disastrous results. Ana, a rising star in the world of genetics, also happens to be a enchantress and might just be the key to bringing the world of genetics and magic into harmony.

A quick read with elements of suspense, drama and sizzling romance thrown in. Early in the story some misunderstandings cause rifts between the main characters but when the team of 5 realize they’re all aiming for the same goal, albeit for different reasons, things start to heat up.

While I enjoyed the story, I did have some qualms. The story felt a little out of balance. Elements that were key felt abrupt or glossed over while the in-between moments felt too long. Case in point, the appearance of the two cowboys in the elevator. My reaction was [80] but the narrative made it feel like more of a quick way to explain their appearance without really delving into what realistic reactions might be. There were several points in the story where I was like “but wait! that’s a big deal! can we know more about that?!”. Also the character development was little light, leaving me feeling like Ana was a little whiny (instead of me empathizing with her) and I couldn’t invest in her and her relationships with CJ, Will, Easton and Beckett as much as I wanted to. Lastly,  and this is more trivial, but I was a little disappointed that Cora didn’t make an appearance! Hopefully there’s plans for her in future novels!

Overall a fun quick read with elements of shifter magic, enchantress magic, mind reading and time travel.

Ana Marea is disenchanted.
By men.
By the promise of love.
By the illusion of forever.

Ana may have the brilliant mind of a scientist, but she’s a romantic at heart. Endowed with the ability to enchant objects, she can’t seem to spark the same magic in her love life. And after a string of failed relationships, she worries she’ll never get her chance at a happily ever after.

Could the answer lie with a wolf shifter, a genetics professor, and two men from the past? Or when time runs out and the spell breaks, will Ana’s heart shatter with it?

***Time of Enchantment can be read as a stand-alone, but for maximum enjoyment, it’s recommended that you read Charms of Attraction (a prequel novella) first.
