EXCERPT 1:
Page after page spat out from the printer. Vanessa waited for her documents to finish, tapping one foot. She bit back a curse as the machine jammed. This was the worst thing to happen. She had a one-hour deadline, and she wasn’t handy at fixing things.
“Don’t be afraid to be rough with it.” She gasped as Sebastian appeared beside her. He loosened the paper and banged the printer. Like magic, the pages hurtled out again.
“That’s what she said.” Childish but the line was the first thing to pop into her head.
So much for an intelligent conversation starter.
To her relief, a small smile played on his lips. “Those jokes never get old.”
“I do make myself laugh a lot.”
“You had me smiling all day after we met.”

EXCERPT 2:
Sebastian’s shirt stretched tight across his muscles, and the corners of his eyes crinkled as he grinned. “It’s not every day women fall at my feet.”
His arms were still around her.
“That’s because it hurts falling from the sky.” A weak joke.
Sebastian’s gaze sparkled with mischief as he held her hands. His thumbs brushed her knuckles. “How was heaven when you left?”
She bit the edge of a smile when a funny thought entered her head. “It rose to the occasion.”
