The Quick and Dirty: Chris is a big NHL hot shot and Summer the hometown reporter who he’s always had a soft spot for. The trauma that tore them apart in high school threatens to keep them separated unless they can overcome it.
I feel like small town romances can sometimes be too sweet or too slow, and while this book is a slow burn, the story arc kept things moving at a good pace and I loved the chemistry between Chris and Summer. I really loved the ancillary characters as well; I’m hoping that some of the other players get their own books because I was as interested in their stories as in Chris and Summer’s. A fantastic start to a new series that has enough hockey to appease the sports fans and enough burn for the romance readers! Can’t wait for the next one.
Winning the Cup doesn’t compare to winning a kiss from Summer Gunderson.
After Christopher MacCormack scored the game-winning goal to win the Cup, he received a congratulatory email from Summer Gunderson that dared him to hope in a way he hasn’t in years. She’s the girl that got away and the only woman he’s ever loved.
Now he’s returned to their hometown in Minnesota for his day with the Cup and Summer is there every step of the way, covering it for the local newspaper. While the whole town is focused on Christopher during his visit, his focus is set on Summer because of one simple, unending truth: if Summer Gunderson is in the room, Christopher MacCormack can’t take his eyes off her.
Will their second chance at love overcome the past that’s blocked their way? Christopher is certainly willing to give it a shot.
Inertia is the first standalone romance in the highly anticipated Colorado Storm Hockey Series.
